The Lookout is a private beach house/villa located on an exclusive beach estate in Inhambane, Mozambique. The Lookout occupies an extraordinary beachfront plot overlooking the Indian ocean and also the beautiful rock of Praia da Rocha. Due to its unique situation, it commands a panoramic 180+ degree of sea and beach which needs to be seen to be appreciated. The house has expansive open plan areas with complete folding and stacking doors which open out onto large deck areas. All four main bedrooms have beach views and large picture windows and sliding doors onto decks looking out over the ocean. They are all ensuite with beautiful bathrooms with bathtubs overlooking the ocean and walk-in showers and double vanity. The fifth room is at the back as an extra guest room, there is also another 6th staff room at the garage complex.
The front sunrise deck is an exceptional place to spot sea life, in particular, the humpback whales that concentrate in the area from July to November to calf. Due to the depth of the water around the rock, the Humpbacks tend to come in close and sightings of whales breaching multiple times are prolific throughout the day. The Lookout really lives up to its namesake. The kitchen deck has a decent sized plunge pool and a covered deck for outside dining, BBQ and seating. There is a further private sundeck off bedroom 5 which is very secluded and also has an outside shower.
There is absolute seclusion and privacy at The Lookout, you will invariably be the only people on the beach and you can walk for miles in either direction. The Lookout is situated on the South Beach of the development which is a big Indian roller beach, stunningly wild and beautiful and less developed than the North side but this development as a whole is entirely untouched and pristine netled in the dunes. The North beach is just a short walk over the dune and this is a cove and an excellent place to swim and snorkel. The whole estate is 7kms off the main road from Inhambane to Tofu which in itself is a small African road. The road to the estate is sand and 4X4 only and its really a very well kept secret and provides a very private retreat to the inhabitants. The estate is managed by an estate management couple who live permanently on the estate and manage the staff for the estate. The estate is actively involved in supporting the local community.
The local area has many great beaches and there are many activities. There are many restaurants and places to explore locally. The areas of Tofu and Barra are well known as exceptional beach spots/resorts. World class diving, Fishing, Surfing and other watersports are available. There are research centres for Whale Shark and Manta Ray protection in the area as the area is also famous for its resident population of Whale Sharks and one of the largest congregations of Giant Manta's in the world. The town of Inhambane harks back to the colonial era and the markets are colourful. The whole area is laid back and relaxed and the local people are friendly and welcoming.
Fully furnished to a very high standard.
